Executive Summary

I identified a major growth barrier in a web development business: most potential customers wanted websites but could not afford custom development services.

Through customer research and analysis, I discovered that 80% of qualified leads declined our services due to price, despite still wanting to build websites.

To solve this problem, I designed and launched WP Academy, a multi-tier digital platform that allows users to enter at different price points—from learning to build their own websites to purchasing premium custom development services.

Within 3 months, the ecosystem acquired 150+ users, generated multiple revenue streams, and created a product-led funnel that feeds higher-value services and recurring hosting revenue.


Business Problem

The web development agency primarily offered custom website development starting at ₦70,000+.

This created several challenges:

  • 80% of leads rejected services due to cost

  • Many customers attempted DIY website solutions but failed

  • The business lacked entry-level products to capture this market

As a result, the company lost significant potential revenue and customer relationships.


Business Analysis & Customer Discovery

To understand the problem, I conducted 20+ structured interviews with leads who declined our services.
